Mashhad - Bafgh railway with length of 1,000km connects to Bafgh- Bandar Abbas Railway and the Persian Gulf from one side and Mashhad- Sarakhs Railway and Central Asia from the other side, which decreased the rail path between Central Asia to Persian Gulf for more than 800km. The importance of this project has been frequently emphasized by the international and regional organizations such as UIC, ESCAP, and ECO.

Project Targets:

- To establishment of a closer connection between the Central Asian countries and Persian Gulf through Sarakhs - Mashhad Railway.

- To decrease the cargo transport costs, promotion of relative advantage and increasing the level of international cargo attraction and the share of Islamic Republic of Iran from the cargo transit in the region and foreign currency based earnings resulted from the same.

- To establishment of a rapid safe connection among the production centers and rich and big mines of iron of Chadormalou, Parvadeh (Tabas) coal mine, Sangan iron mine and SeChahoun to the steel production factories of Esfahan, Bandar Abbas and Khorasan.

Pars Details of Duties in this Project:
Study of the path in length of 130km and supervision on project implementation: totally 100km in four sections.
