Kerman - Zahedan Railway, with the length of 554km, connected Sistan & Baluchestan Province to Iranian integrated railway and provided the rail-based connection of the southeast Asia to Turkey and Europe, which causes an increase in the level of attraction of international shipments and increase share of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the cargo transit in the region and foreign-currency earnings resulting from the same. The possibility of continuing and branching the project and rail-based connection to Chabahar port and free trade zone are one of the potential advantages of the project, which will effect on economical and social development in the region.

Summary of Volumes and Quantities of Earth Works and Technical Structures:

- Excavation: 16,500,000 m3.

- Embankment: 20,000,00 m3.

- Technical Structures: 700,000 m3.

- Tunnels: Totally 5,320m.

- Special Bridges: Totally 2,335m.
